This is one powerful little tool. The Shark ION W1 Cord-Free Handheld Vacuum WV200 is small and takes up very little space, but oh it is powerful. I had my doubts when I unpacked the Shark ION W1 Cord-Free Handheld Vacuum, it's that lightweight and small. I didn't think that this could have much suction but I was very surprised at how wrong I was in my initial assumption. It's very easy to put together right out of the box. Comes with two attachments, a wide nose multi-surface pet tool and a crevice tool. I plugged it in and charged it overnight. Next morning I was ready to give this a good try out. I have a regular large vacuum and a non electronic for quick pickups, but needed a handheld for the kitchen and bath and any smaller quick pickup needs. This unit fits my needs perfectly. I wanted this for use in my kitchen and the hall, so I tried it in the kitchen first. I seem to for ever drop crumbs, flour and cuttings under the cabinets feet and am forever pulling out the broom. I hoped having this plugged in in the kitchen I need no longer bend on hands and knees to clean up after cooking and baking. Well I tested it after I finished making bread, sucking up flour and crumbs. It did a fantastic job. Although the dirt cup is small it was big enough to handle plenty. I don't know if it will have a problem with damp crumbs, so I tried that too hoping I didn't condemn this vacuum by breaking it. It's not something I would recommend though, it worked on moist crumbs but left a mess on the screen and the brush. The filter isn't a problem since I was able to wash it under the faucet, but the dust cup I had to wipe dry and clean with paper towels. Not worth the troubles. Worked perfect in my half bath and the hall, did suck up the flour I spilled on the counter too. Did a good job on my door mat as well. I don't have a pet right now so I can't tell you how it handles pet hair. Based on how it handles yarn and threads I say you have to move a bit slower to give these larger items a chance to be pulled into the dust cup and not get hung up on the brush. I had to run over the little yarn pieces a couple of times, maybe because it was wool, but it did suck em up. My regular vacuum always resists these too, or they wrap around the brushes, which is frustrating. This vacuum didn't fight me near as much, I think it should handle pet hair just fine. Since I am using it every day it's just right as long as I empty it after use which is a piece of cake, push a button and it's dumped out. A regular quick cleaning of the varied filtering protections is a good idea. With the push of a button it emptied the cup and I didn't have to touch anything. There is a filter screen protector, and some bristles, both helping protect the motor. These are easily cleaned just wipe the screen, but you have to pick or brush the brushes. I wish they provided a tool for these, because they need to be clean or it will hamper further suction, especially the brushes. There is also a filter cup, easily removed, tapping it will remove larger dust particles and it can then be washed by hand. Regular cleaning the different parts which protect the machine should keep this little powerhouse running for a long time. The accompanying instructions are well put together with pictures showing you all the parts of the vacuum, how to use and how to keep it clean and working. It also has a section covering possible problems and solutions for these. The Shark ION W1 Cord-Free Handheld Vacuum WV200 is covered by a 2 year warranty, which I find great. Don't forget to fill in the product information on this instruction sheet so you have them at hand if service is needed. I have to tell you I am amazed at the powerful suction this little handheld has. It actually sucked up deep seated dust off vacuumed regular carpeting! Dust my larger vacuum left behind! Surprised me! Picking up threads and larger items works okay as long as I run it over those more slowly and the cup and brush and filters needs cleaning or at least checking when sucking up a lot of dust. It handles crumbs on sofas and recliners, getting into the crevices real well. It's shape helps this. So, the suction is great but I still needed to know how much this little vacuum could handle without emptying and before it needs cleaning. The cup holds a lot of crumbs and dust, but can clog up the filter which sits over the cup. So regularly checking and quick cleaning this and the brush is important and nothing major, just takes a second. I be using this primarily in my kitchen and run it along baseboards in the hall. It's great for this, a quick pickup of fluff and dust motes visible on my dark hall floor. I even used it to suck up a fly and then tried it on a wayward spider which I released outside. It worked! Nice tool! Love this handy vacuum, being lightweight, small, a good quality, charged and handy for use anytime.
